Violet Coated Vicryl maintains approximately 50% of its tensile strength at three weeks post-implantation, providing reliable wound support during the critical initial healing phase. The suture undergoes complete absorption between 56 and 76 days, allowing gradual loss of foreign material as the tissue regains strength.
